Combining Inbound Marketing with Traditional Advertising

On June 7, 2007, Rikki and Jared Broussard handed over their 3-month-old baby boy to a surgeon at Boston Children's Hospital for a 5-hour open heart surgery procedure. The Broussard Family stayed by Jonathan's side for 13 days during his recovery from this complex surgery. Being 1300 miles away from home, one of the communication mechanisms that Jared used to relay important details to family and friends back home was a blog.
Through this experience, Jared developed a vision for communication and connectivity for congenital heart defect (CHD) families that were facing the same challenges that his family faced. Fast forward to today, Jared is the founder of Heartwaves.org, a hub of information and connectivity for congenital heart defect families around the world. Heartwaves.org has been the centerpiece for Jared's development and knowledge of inbound marketing. Through the wonderful platform of HubSpot, Jared has marketed crucial and relative information for CHD families who are facing the challenges of having a CHD child. In just one year, Heartwaves.org has become the hub for the CHD community.
Jared will share with the WIM audience the tools and strategies in place that have built the Heartwaves community in just one short year. In this same short period, Jared has developed one of the largest HubSpot/inbound marketing agencies in the state with BlinkJar Media. With 14 HubSpot clients in one year, Jared can share a thing or two about the growth in the inbound marketing arena.
